I was hanging with some friends last night listening to some music and some of the songs we talked about were from the 80's. It got me thinking about some of the albums I haven't listened to in a while. Here are 6 that fall into that category.
Enjoy

Paul Carrack - Don't Shed A Tear
Paul Carrack is one of those singers that is fairly unknown until you realize that he had 3 huge hits all as lead singer of band. He had "How Long" by Ace, "Tempted" by Squeeze and "Silent Running" by Mike and the Mechanics. This was a hit from his third solo album, "One Good Reason". It was released in 1987 and reached number 9 on the US Charts. I don;t seem to remember it being that big of a hit but I loved it all the same.
Crowded House - Mean To Me

This was the first single from their debut self titled album. It was released in 1986 and failed to chart anywhere in the world except for Australia where it reached number 26.
Squeeze - Hourglass
This is the first single from the 1987 album "Babylon and On". It was the first single to reach the US Top 40 although because of MTV and their best of album "Singles 45's and Under", they were more known in the US than their chart success would suggest.
Eurythmics - When Tomorrow Comes
This was the first single from their fifth album "Revenge". It was released in 1986 and failed to chart in the US. This was by far my favorite album by the Eurthmics. It was great from beginning to end. It had a much more acoustic vibe and I think Dave Stewart was at his best during this time. He also produced Daryl Hall's solo album around the same time.
Love and Rockets - All In My Mind
This is the third single from their second album "Express". It was released in 1987 and was a hit on alternative radio in the US. The acoustic version of this song also appears on the album and is also great.
The The - Kingdom of Rain
Buy On Amazon
This was the fourth single off of their fourth album "Mindbomb". It was released in 1989 and was a duet with Sinead O'Connor. This was also a hit on alternative radio in the US but I haven;t heard this song in a long time. Incredible.
