5 Great Power Pop Songs Volume 1

A few of these have been on my repeat list the last week or so and so I decided to put a few together in a new category. Here is my first "5 Great Power Pop Songs" post.

The Ravyns - Rhythm of the Heart
The Ravyns were a very good underrated band from Baltimore. They were featured in the original Basement Tapes on MTV.  They also had a prominent song in the movie "Fast Times At Ridgemont High". After one great album and some record label issues, they were done. They still play reuinion shows once in a while. This is from their self titled 1984 album. It was and still is one my favorites.

The Producers - Dear John
Easily one of my all time favorite bands, they released 4 albums. They were featured in heavy rotation in the early MTV days. They also struggled with their record label but still have a very good following. This is from their second album, "You Make The Heat". It was released in 1982.

Cheap Trick - Come On, Come On
This is one of an amazing bunch of songs from their second album "In Colour". It was released in 1977. I still think it's their best overall effort.

John Waite - Temptation
This is an album track from his solo debut "Ignition". It was released in 1982. It's still one of my favorite albums of all time.

Scandal - Beat of a Heart
This is from Scandals first and last full length album. It's great from beginning to the end.
