I haven't done a cover post in a while. Before I move onto "Top 5 Band Songs" from the 70's posts, I figured I would get a cover post in here. Enjoy.
Blue October - The Promise (When In Rome)
One of my favorite newer bands, Blue October does a great acoustic version of a great 80's song.
Birdy - People Help The People (Cherry Ghost)
Birdy is 16 year old English singer Jasmine van den Bogaerde. She won a UK talent show at the age of 12 and became a YouTube Sensation with her cover of Skinny Love. This is off of her debut album, "Birdy". This is a cover of a great song by a band called Cherry Ghost.
Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros - Redemption Song (Bob Marley)
Once the lead singer of The Clash, Joe recorded this Bob Marley cover for his last album, "Streetcore". I like it better than the original. Sadly, Joe died in 2002.
Boyce Avenue - Teenage Dream Katy Perry)
Just a great cover of a great pop song.
The Church - Hounds of Love (Kate Bush)
Many people don't know that The Church are still around. They recorded this for their 2009 EP, "Coffee Hounds".
