Finding Music Tools Volume 1

I listen to a lot of music, both new and old. Finding music can be difficult. I have a lot of tools that I use to help me besides word of mouth and Radio and TV.  I've listed several below and a little info for each. I will do another one of these as my list grows.

Second Hand Songs
This is a great website with an amazing database of every song that you could  think about and who covered it.

Alternative Addiction
Cool site that promotes good new power pop music. Also has a great Top 20 with streaming.

Spotify
Incredible and currently free music streaming service. It also has a subscription based service that streams to mobile devices and downloads to MP3 players. It also has a great sharing option to see what your other friends have been listening to. It integrates very well with Facebook and does a great job of giving more music recommendations.

Rhapsody
This is what I currently use for my music based download service. I can stream music or download to my devices. It cost $9.99 a month.

Billboard
Still a standard for music charts. I don't listen to the radio a lot so this helps me see what's out there.

WTMD
I use their site quite a bit. It lists their most recent playlist. I then go to one of my streaming services or youtube to listen. Most Radio stations do some variety of this, especially the stations that are playing more indie stuff.

YouTube
A great site to find new or old music. Everthing is on there and there are always suggestions on the right.

LastFM
Another free music service. It suggests music based on your preferences and playing selections.
