So it's December 10th in Ocean City Md and I just saw my first Christmas Slug. It's Global Warming for sure. With that being said, here are 6 great songs from the early 80's. These songs were holdouts from the 70's am radio genre. New Wave was just starting and these artists still had something in the tank.
Enjoy

1. KC and the Sunshine Band - Please Don't Go
From the 1979 album "Do You Wanna Go Party", it was the last hit the band had before KC went solo. It reminds me of Skateland.
2. Barbra Streisand - Guilty (w Barry Gibb)
Guilty was written by the Bee Gees. It was released as a single from the 1980 album of the same name. Guilty peaked at #3 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
3. Paul McCartney - Coming Up
"Coming Up" is the opening track on his second solo album McCartney II, which was released in 1980.This also reminds me of Skateland.
4. The Manhattans - Shining Star
"Shining Star" is the first track on their 1980 album "After Midnight". It's one of those songs that you never hear and when you do it immediately takes you back to that time. I love it.
"Jesse" was the lead single from Simon's ninth studio album "Come Upstairs". It always reminds me of working with my now lifelong friends at my first job Dunkin' Donuts.
"On the Radio" was released in late-1979 on the Casablanca record label. It was written for the soundtrack to the film Foxes which starrred Jodie Foster, Scott Baio and Randy Quaid.
