Since we are on a nice run of 90's songs, I decided to post some from the comments on Facebook.
Enjoy

Matthew Sweet - Evangeline

This was an album track from his third album "Girlfriend". Again, this is one of my all time favorite albums. I remember I had a Sony Walkman cd player with a cassette player adapter so I could listen to cd's in my car. I though that was the greatest thing ever. I listened to this album non stop.  He would go on to have a few more "hit" albums but non would top this in my mind.

Aimee Mann - I Should've Known

This was the first single off of her debut solo album "Whatever". I was such a fan of the the 'til Tuesday albums I couldn't wait for this to be released and I wasn't disappointed. I listened to this so much that I really don't remember ever hearing it on the radio since I had on on play non stop.

The Candyskins - Submarine Song

This was the first single from their debut album"Space I'm In". It was released in 1991 and was a big modern rock hit back in the HFS days. I could only find the live version on Spotify and for sale on Amazon but the YouTube Video is the original.

Catherine Wheel - Strange Fruit

This was an album track from their second album "Chrome". This was another album that I listened to so much that I wasn't even sure what was a single until I looked it up. Interestingly, lead singer Rob Dickinson is the cousin of Iron Maiden front man Bruce Dickinson.

Material Issue - Valerie Loves Me

This was the first single from their 1991 debut album "International Pop Overthrow". It was a huge modern rock hit back in the heyday of WHFS. They would release several more great pop albums and a really good cover of the Banana Splits Theme but in 1996, lead singer Jim Ellison committed suicide.

Gin Blossoms - Til I Hear It From You

Following the hugely popular debut album "New Miserable Experience", they released this song on the 1995 "Empire Records" Soundtrack. It would end up being their highest US Chart hit peaking at number 11.
