As I go thorough my music collection, I find artists that I take a break from but always come back to. Queen is one of those bands, They easily are one my top 2 or 3 bands of all time but how do I stray away for such long periods? I don't have an answer. I'm back and feel like I should have never left, Anyway, this was my most difficult one yet. Here it is. I left off a bunch but gave them credit at the end.
Enjoy

5. Queen - I Want To Break Free
This is the second single from their 1984 album "The Works". It was one of their first songs to have a video on MTV. It reached number 46 in the US and number 3 in the UK. Queen was probably at their peak for me personally during this time.
4. Queen - Under Pressure (w David Bowie)
Buy On Amazon
This is one of the greatest songs of all time. I remember hearing this on the radio in 1981 and being blown away. I was already a huge Queen fan after their hit album "The Game". I couldn't believe how different it sounded and then throw in that it was recorded with David Bowie and I was sold. It was the first single off of their 1981 album "Hot Space". It reached number 29 in the US and number 1 in the UK. Sadly the rest of the album was pretty disappointing although I liked the direction the band was heading. Fans were very disappointed with it.
3. Queen - Don't Stop Me Now
This was always one of my favorites partly because it was a little lesser known. That changed some when it was featured in "Shawn of the Dead". It was used perfectly and made me like the song even more. It was the second single off of the 1978 album "Jazz". It reached number 86 on the US Charts but reached number 9 in the UK.
2. Queen - You're My Best Friend
This is one of the best pop rock songs I have ever heard. I struggled leaving this off of my all time top 25 list. It was the second single off of the 1975 album "A Night At The Opera". It reached number 16 on the US Charts.
1. Queen - Somebody To Love
I still can't get enough of this song. It was the first single off of the 1976 album "Day At The Races". It was a toss up between this and "You're My Best Friend" but ultimately this won. It reached number 13 on the US Charts. I think it gets overshadowed by the similar "Bohemian Rhapsody" but I think it's the better song.
Songs that almost made my list..... Another One Bites The Dust, Need Your Lovin' Tonight, We Will Rock You, We Are The Champions and Radio Gaga
