It's been a week since my last post. Softball was a common theme keeping me a away. Katie had 3 games, I had 4. Throw in a trip to the beach and a marathon Orioles Weekend and there's not much time for music but here are 5 great new songs. Check them out.
Andrew Bird - Eyeoneye
Andrew Bird is an American singer songwriter who was is a former member of The Squirrel Nut Zippers. He has released several solo albums and although he has no "real" hits, he seems to sell more albums with every release. This is from his most recent CD, "Break It Yourself".
Ed Sheeran - The A Team
I stumbled upon Ed Sheeran on YouTube recently and then downloaded his Album, "+" a few weeks ago. It's really good, especially considering he's 21.
Alabama Shakes - Hold On
This is another band that is having success with some very basic, roots rock. They are from Athens Alabama. The song "Hold On" is from their first CD, "Boys and Girls".
Garbage - Blood For Poppies
The first 2 CD's from Garbage were huge and seem to have a hit with every song. They released 2 more CD's and then broke up. This is their first CD since 2005. It's called "Not Your Kind Of People". "Blood For Poppies" is the first single.
Gotye - Save Me
Gotye hit it big, scoring a worldwide hit with "Somebody I Use To Know". I'm not sure if he will be considered a one hit wonder or continue to make more hits. It's going to be tough to ever top that song. This is the 11th track from the CD, "Making Mirrors".
