I don't sleep well. Tina thinks I have a whole other life that exists after 11:00 PM. Many ambien induced feasts used to take place without my knowledge. I have that under control now. The other part of my late night life consists of listening to music with the head phones on. This is a result of of one of those nights. Enjoy.

5 Songs On My iPod Volume 4
It's Friday and we are getting ready to go to a Blast Game. I should be getting ready but instead I decided to to post 5 more songs that came up in the last few days.
Friends Top List Series (Al Doong All Time Top 10) Part 2
This is a first. Al sent me his top ten and I posted it. Then he decided to send me part two (11 - 20). Some great songs on here.
Nice list.
Friends Top List Series (Al Doong All Time Top 10)
Here is a top 10 list from a friend of mine, Al Doong. Al's list is completely old school. I'm a big fan of The Who and loved seeing of a few of their songs on here and Wild Horses is just an amazing song. Enjoy

Here is another fantastic list from my friend Jill. I keep asking and my friends keep sending them. Keep it up.
This is the first 1 of 2 by a married couple. Her husband Mike's will be next. I'm waiting for the Ferrandi's and of course my wife's list.
Friends Top List Series (Mike Mulqueen All Time Top 10)
Here is part 2 of the Mulqueen Lists. This one is from my friend Mike. Interestingly, Mike and Jill have 2 of the same songs on their top 10. Nice job.

5 Songs on My iPod Volume 3
My iPod cleared itself the other day. I was in a hurry and just started sending a bunch of cd's and playlists to it in preparation for our trip to Ocean City. It made for a good mix of stuff for the ride. Here is a quick playlist of 5 songs that came up on my iPod today.
5 Great New Songs Volume 2
Here are 5 great new songs that came out recently or are new to me.
I heard most of these either by word of mouth or on some local alternative stations.

Friends Top List Series (Ray Harrington All Time Top 10)
I figured when I started this blog, I would do 1 post a week. Then when I decided to get my friends involved, it's turned into 5 or 6 a week. I love it, keep them coming. This one is from Ray Harrington. I completely forgot how into music Ray was back in the 80's. Based on his top 10, he still is very into it. Great Job
Friends Top List Series (Robert Popik All Time Top 25)
Here is another great post in my "Friends Top List Series(25 in this case). Bob Popik is a local DJ (Ravens, Orioles etc) and a huge Morrissey/Smiths fan. I'm surprised he only has 2 on this list. A great list I might add. It makes me realize as I post these lists how different everyone's musical taste are. Mine are way more pop than some of these but wow, what a great list.
Here ya go.

5 Songs That Should Have Been Bigger Hits Than They Were Volume 1
I listen to a lot of music. I find songs from so many different sources that I lose track if they were ever hits at all. What got me thinking about this was my number 1 song for 2011, Gotye's song "Somebody That I Used To Know". When I first heard it back in October, I thought, "what a cool different song?"
I assumed that it would become one of those great songs that no one knows. The other day, a friend of mine told me that she just heard it on Mix 106.5. This is a station that if the song is played on their station, it will not be one of "those" songs. Looking back, sometimes I'm surprised that not only were songs not hits but they either bombed or no one knows them at all. Here are 5 tracks that I can't believe weren't huge hits.
Friends Top List Series (Kevin Aspelmeier All Time Top 10)
This post continues with my series of lists from my friends. In a follow up to Kevin's Top10 for 2011, here is his All Time Top 10. You may notice that there is actually 13 songs. He said it was too hard to come up with just 10. I agree, that's why I did 25.
Enjoy

5 Songs on My iPod Volume 2
These 5 songs came on while I was driving today. I think it's a pretty diverse bunch of songs. I generally just send a bunch of cd's and old playlists to my iPhone and let it shuffle play. I keep adding to it until I get bored and then clear and start over again.
Friends Top List Series (Carina Sipe All Time Top Ten)
Some of my friends had a hard time with the 2011 top ten and just submitted their all time top ten. I can understand. In today's music world, it's really hard to listen to knew music unless you are a little on the obsessed side. Here is another All Time Top Ten.

Friends Top List Series (Bob Golden All Time Top 10)
My friend's top ten lists keep rolling in. Bob's list is very diverse. Great list and once again, there are a few on here that I don't know. Love the Journey song and The Hole song. Great job.
Friends Top List Series (Wendy Phillips Top 10 for 2011)
Here is my third "Top 10 for 2011" post from my friend Wendy. As much new music as I listen to, I love seeing what other people listen to. Once I get these lists, I create a playlist on my iPod and put it into the shuffle. In this list, I have not heard Theory of a Deadman, Skrillex and Crash Kings.
6 Great Songs From the 80's Volume 1
This post is just the result of a late Saturday Night, listening to music and thinking about some great 80's songs. The 80's was the first time I really started to seek out music instead of just let it come to me via the radio. MTV was a huge part of that but working in a record store also helped.

Friends Top List Series (Stacey Murray Desch Top 10 for 2011)
I emailed a bunch of my music friends and asked for their Top 10 for 2011 and their All Time Top 10. I got a bunch of great responses. Stacey did a great job with both and added some great comments for each one. Here's her Top 10 for 2011. Enjoy.

This is the first in a series of "Lists" from some of my friends. The first one to respond was Kevin Aspelmeier.
Kevin's All Time Top 10 is coming soon.

6 Obscure Late 80's Early 90's Songs Volume 3
I was told recently that my music definitely trends towards the 90's. I was a little shocked by that because I also like so much new music and the 80's were so great. Looking through some of my playlists, that person might be right. It was a good time. Here are 6 more of those songs.

5 Songs on My iPod Volume 1
The way I listen to music has changed so much. My iPod is such a huge part of my listening experience. In the old days, I would take 5 or 6 cassette tapes with me and pop them in and out of the cassette desk. I would also make mix tapes. That led to CD's and then mix cd's. It was a tedious process. On the positive side, I listened to more whole albums than I do now. On the negative side, I used to get stuck on a few albums just out of pure laziness. Now with the shuffle option on the iPod, I hear so many new songs that I would not have even bothered to listen to. Here are 5 that popped up on my iPod in the last few days.

5 Great New Songs Volume 1
I find music a lot of different ways. Word of Mouth, Music Charts, Websites and Spotify. I have been using Spotify lately. I have a huge music collection but Spotify has some features that I don't get by listening to my collection.
1) It allows me to share music with my friends very easily.
2) It has an option that lists other artists that I might like based on what I am currently listening to. I found a few artists this week that way.

6 Obscure Late 80's Early 90's Songs Volume 2
I decided to do another set of songs from this era. I've been spending a lot of time listening to music the last few weeks and keep coming up with more songs that I forget about for an extended period of time.

New Years Eve 2011 Playlist
My paid Dj'ing jobs happen about every 10 years or so. That doesn't stop my from being the DJ at parties. New Years Eve 2011 was no exception. Here is my playlist from last night.
