It's starting to be that time of the year when new songs start hitting the radio waves. It seems to be a slow time this year for songs that make me notice. Maybe it's my age or maybe it's just a slow time. Either way, here are 5 songs that have gotten my interest.
Lovedrug - Pink Champagne
Lovedrug has been a band that I have liked for a few years. They have have gone almost completely under the radar so far. Here's hoping that their new CD, "Wild Blood" will change that.
Haley Reinhart - Free
I have been watching American Idol since the first year and love it. I know that it's still a crap shoot as to whether the winner will have a successful solo career or not. Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood have have been very successful but Taylor Hick and Kris Allen have not. Some of the people who did not win have even had more successful careers. Chris Daughtry and Kellie Pickler did not win but have had sold some records. Haley Reinhart surprised me with this single. It's exactly what you need to do to stand out if you aren't doing an R and B record.
The All American Rejects - Beekeepers Daughter
The All American rejects have been a good band throughout their career. There's nothing great about them but they do put out some catchy songs. I really like this one.
Keane - Silenced By The Night
Keane came out around the same time that one of my other favorites, Snow Patrol did. They haven't kept up with Snow Patrol like I had hoped although I have liked most of what they released. This song is from their upcoming CD, "Strangeland", due to be released on May 7th.
Shinedown - Unity
Shinedown has been around for a few years and although their stuff doesn't always blow me away, they do put out some really good songs. This is one of them.
