5 Songs That Should Have Been Bigger Hits Than They Were Volume 2

Here are 5 more songs that have always been hits to me and the lucky (or unlucky) people who have either driven with me over the years or been fortunate enough to be at my house when I play music.

Something Happens - Hello, Hello, Hello, Hello, Hello (Petrol)
This is a band that I don't know how I knew them. I listened to this CD over and over back in the early 90's. Nobody I knew heard of them. They were from Ireland and had a little success there then faded after a few more albums.

Jeff Lynne - Lift Me Up
Jeff Lynne is the lead singer and general everything guy in ELO and a huge music producer. He has produced for Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Tom Petty and Roy Orbison. This list is endless of who he has worked with. Jeff released this as a solo cd in 1990 instead of as an ELO cd. It did not have much success. To this day it's his only solo release.

Bad English - Don't Walk Away
John Waite has had a lot of success as the lead singer of The Babys, Bad English and as a solo artist. Although I like some of the music that he did with Bad English, I hated the whole metal look they were trying to go with. I always though that he was above that. After 2 successful cd's in Bad English, he went back to straight forward rock and pop. This was the last track on their first release. It always sounded like a song that should have been on his solo album and not with Bad English.

Debbie Harry - Backfired
Debbie Harry was the lead singer of the band Blondie. After the release of AutoAmerican, Blondie took a couple of years off. During this time she released KooKoo, her first solo album. It was not nearly as big as the previous Blondie albums although the next Blondie album also bombed as well. KooKoo featured the single "Backfired" which sounded like "Rapture Part Two". It was produced by Nile Rogers and Bernard Edwards of Chic and Power Station. It was not a big hit but I thought it was great.

Wild Colonials - Charm
This is another band that I don't know anyone who knows them. I think they were on a promotional cd I had in the early 90's.
