My Top 40 Songs for 2012

This is my one year anniversary of my first blog post.On that first post I did my top 40 for 2011. A lot of people don't understand how I can even come up with 40 songs. I still think that there is a lot of great music out there, you just have to seek it our more than you used to. Here is my list of my favorite 40 songs from the year 2012. My rules are simple, it may have come out before 2012 but if I first became aware of it in 2012, then it is eligible for my list. Enjoy and thanks for following me this year. I am now also linking my playlist in Spotify. In this case, 4 songs of the 40 are missing from the Spotify library. Enjoy

5 Great Power Pop Songs Volume 1

A few of these have been on my repeat list the last week or so and so I decided to put a few together in a new category. Here is my first "5 Great Power Pop Songs" post.

6 Great Christmas Songs Volume 1

I plan to do a bunch of Christmas song posts and have a theme for each one. There are so many Christmas songs it can be mind numbing. I have always been a fan of the songs that are full of heartache and loneliness in the guise of a Christmas song so I decided to do that as my first theme.

6 Great Songs From The 90's Volume 4

Here's a quick post for some great 90's songs. The early 90's had such a cool sound. It just further enforced my love for music. I could not get enough of Northside's Take 5 back in the day.
Enjoy

5 Songs On My Ipod (Samsung Galaxy S3) Volume 23

So I finally got rid of my iPhone (iPod before that) and got a Samsung Galaxy S3. I love it. This is a quick post of some songs that popped up in the last few weeks. I guess the title will stay the same for these posts since iPod is like a word that people use even though it's a brand. I didn't change it when I went from an iPod to an iPhone anyway. Thanks to George for pointing that out.

My Top 5 Police Songs

The Police were an amazing band. They released 5 studio albums and were only around from 1977 to 1984. The had almost no success in the US until their 3rd album. Now every song in their catalog seems to be a hit. They officially broke up in 1986. I loved this band so much that I really had a hard time with this list. My first 2 records I ever bought were The Police "Zenyatta Mondatta" and AC/DC "Back in Black".
Here are my favorite Police songs.

My Top 5 Led Zeppelin Songs

My good friend Todd posted a Led Zeppelin song tonight. It got me thinking about how much I have grown to appreciate them as I've gotten older. I wasn't a huge fan when they were still an active band. I think I was still too young. As I have gotten older, I have gone back and listened to older artists like Bruce Springsteen, The Kinks and of course Led Zeppelin. When I first started really listening to Led Zeppelin, it was a great experience. It was like they were a new band to me. Amazing.
With 15 years of really listening to them, here is my list of all time favorite Led Zeppelin songs.
