My Top 5 Led Zeppelin Songs

My good friend Todd posted a Led Zeppelin song tonight. It got me thinking about how much I have grown to appreciate them as I've gotten older. I wasn't a huge fan when they were still an active band. I think I was still too young. As I have gotten older, I have gone back and listened to older artists like Bruce Springsteen, The Kinks and of course Led Zeppelin. When I first started really listening to Led Zeppelin, it was a great experience. It was like they were a new band to me. Amazing.
With 15 years of really listening to them, here is my list of all time favorite Led Zeppelin songs.

5. Led Zeppelin - Good Times Bad Times
This was the first track from their debut self titled 1969 album. I can't imagine what this must have sounded like to a rock fan when this came out. This must have been so amazing to hear something so new and different.

4. Led Zeppelin - D'Yer Mak'er
This is the 6th track from their 5th album, "Houses of the Holy". It was released in 1973 and 5th in 4 1/2 years.

3. Led Zeppelin - Rock And Roll
This is the 2nd track from their 4th album, "IV". It was released in 1971.

2. Led Zeppelin - When The Levee Breaks
This is the last track from the album "IV".

1.  Led Zeppelin - Fool In The Rain
I know it's blasphemous to have a song from "In Through The Out Door" in this list, let alone my all time favorite song but in my opinion, it is the best. Long time Zeppelin fans hated this and it did not get great reviews. For a fan who wasn't during their career, it's much easier for me to not take the "Their Old Stuff Is Better" attitude. I just listen and like it. This would be their last album of all new material. It was released in 1979.
