5 Great New Songs Volume 18

Musically, this is a great time for new music for me.  Some of my favorite newer bands have or will be releasing new albums. Also included in this list is a song by Solange which totally caught me off guard. Enjoy

Local Natives - Heavy Feet

Local Natives are a California based band who just released their second album, "Hummingbird". This is the 2nd single from that album. I'm not sure how to describe their sound. They remind me a little of Band of Horses. Either way, I love this song. I was waiting until it became available on Spotify.

The Airborne Toxic Event - Timeless

This is the first single from their third album "Such Hot Blood". I'm very excited about this album which will be released later this year. Their previous album "All At Once" was my favorite album of 2011.

Biffy Clyro - Black Chandelier

Biffy Clyro just released their sixth album "Opposites". It's a double album with 20 tracks. It was originally intended to be released as two discs but later it was decided to be just one. This album is really worth checking out. They remind me of some of the stuff that Incubus has put out. This is the first single. I really like it and it has a really cool video.

Solange - Losing You

Solange Knowles is the younger sister of Beyonce. This is the first single from her Indie Label EP "True". I really think she did a great job once she was able to do something different from what her previous label pushed her to do. If I hadn't heard this song first, I may not have given it a chance. It has a great video. Check it out and give it a chance.

Walk Off The Earth - Speeches

Walk Off The Earth is slowly becoming one of my favorite new bands. I first noticed them because of their very cool video and cover of Gotye's Somebody That I Used To Know. I'm not a huge fan of cover bands but with the release of their latest EP "R.E.V.O.", I really think they are starting to put it all together.
