6 Great Songs From the 90's Volume 3

The 90's were a great time for me musically. I started DJ'ing at a great place that let me play some different music. It was also a great decade for music. WHFS was flying high and "alternative" music became a little more mainstream. This was also a time that really good female led bands were taking off. Here were 6 great songs from the 90's all from female singers.

Aimee Mann - That's Just What You Are
The former "Til Tuesday lead singer score a big hit with this song from "The Melrose Place Soundtrack".

Letters To Cleo - Here And Now
This Boston based band scored a minor hit with "Here and Now". This is from their debut album, "Aurora Gory Alice".

Juliana Hatfield - My Sister
This is from Juliana's 2nd solo album, "Become Whatever You Are". She was previously in the band "Blake Babies" with Lemonheads front man Evan Dando.

Tracy Bonham - Mother Mother
Tracy Bonham is a singer from Eugene Oregon. This is form her debut album, "The Burdens of Being Upright". I still think that is a great album title.

That Dog - Never Say Never
That Dog is an LA based band that released several albums including their final one, "Retreat From The Sun". Petra Haden, one of the members, went on to play in the band "The Decemberists".

Velocity Girl - Sorry Again
This College Park Md band had some local success on modern rock radio on the east coast. This is from their 1994 album, "Simpatico".
