My Top 5 Depeche Mode Songs

In keeping with my "Top Songs From a Band or an Artist", I decided to go with Depeche Mode. This is another band that went from obscure band to one of the biggest bands of the 80's and 90's. Their early stuff sounded like guys messing around on a Casio keyboard and within a few years they were a huge synth rock band. Here is my list.

5. Depeche Mode - Strangelove
This is from their huge hit, "Music For The Masses". This is the 2nd album in a series of 3 great albums (the others are Black Celebration and Violater). From beginning to end, they didn't miss very often.

4. Depeche Mode - Somebody
Like the Cure, many people discovered Depeche Mode when they released a greatest hits album. This was originally released on the album "Some Great Reward" but many people first heard this on "Catching Up". Either way, this is easily one of my all time favorite love songs.

3. Depeche Mode - Stripped
This was off of the album "Black Celebration". This was the album where they really started to have a darker more adult sound. I loved this from beginning to end.

2. Depeche Mode - Policy of Truth
This was from their album, "Violater". This was their last great whole album. After this, their albums became very spotty. I liked a lot of songs after this but they never had the same energy.

1. Depeche Mode - Never Let Me Down Again
Like with the Cure's "Late", their is no hesitation as to my favorite Depeche Mode song. This is my favorite, hands down.
