6 Great Songs From the 70's Volume 3

I found a lot of really good songs from the 70's so I am keeping this theme going. For the most part, these 70's lists so far are mostly songs that were of the lighter rock variety. I guess because that is all I was really exposed to. It was only later that I would look into the harder stuff from the 70's.

Tony Orlando and Dawn - Tie a Yellow Ribbon
This was my first record ever. I used to sit in my room and listen to it over and over. I remember he had a guest appearance on Chico and the Man. I always thought he looked like Freddie Prinze.

Seals and Crofts - Diamond Girl
These guys were a light rock duo from the 70's who had a string of hits including this song and Summer Breeze. Jim Seals is the older brother of Dan Seals who had a a nice career as a solo country artist as well as apart of the duo, England Dan and John Ford Coley.

Foreigner - Cold As Ice
Foreigner was a huge band from the mid 70's to the late 80's. This one is from their first album.  Their first 4 albums were all great. This was one of the first rock songs that I started to like.

10CC - I'm Not In Love
10CC was a group of studio musicians who's lineup changed from album to album. Their main members were Graham Gouldman, Eric Stewart, Kevin Godley, and Lol Creme. The latter two went on to have a big hit as Godley and Creme and the single "Cry".

Dr Hook - When You're In Love With A Beautiful Woman
I don't remember much about these guys except that they had a lot of hits in the 70's. They had 10 top forty hits in the 70's. Many of the members have passed away although the lead singer Ray "Eye Path" Sawyer still tours and plays many of the Dr Hook songs.

The Spinners - Working My Way Back To You
The Spinners are a band that has been around since 1954. They have a few original members but like many of the old Motown acts, the members come and go and the band continues on. The Spinners had a bit of a resurgence on the late 70's and early 80's with this song and a few others including Cupid.
