5 Great Cover Songs Volume 4

I've been on a big roll today. My 80's songs has led me down another cover road. Here are 6 covers that I was just listening to today.

Missy Higgins - Stuff and Nonsense (Split Enz)
This was from the Split Enz album "Conflicting Emotions. I actually first heard this when Belinda Carlisle covered it on her first solo album then discovered the original. I like this one best.

Ray LaMontagne - Crazy (Gnarls Barkley)
This is a great stripped down version from his "How Come" single.

Southside Johnny - Walk Away Renee (The Left Banke)
Southside Johnny always seemed like a Bruce Springsteen wannabe to me. He was the second band to come out of Jersey following Bruce Springsteen's popularity. I liked this cover though.

Pete Townshend - Save It For Later (English Beat)
I heard this on a live cd one time, loved it at the time and then forgot about it. This is from his "White City" album.

The Vines - Ms. Jackson (Outkast)
I'm not sure where this came from. I think it was from Radio One in England but not 100%. Love it all the same.

Elvis Costello - Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood (Nina Simone)
This is almost as good as the original. I always thought that The Animals were the original but it was Nina Simone. This is almost as good as Eric Burdon singing it.
