6 Great Songs From the 80's Volume 1

This post is just the result of a late Saturday Night, listening to music and thinking about some great 80's songs. The 80's was the first time I really started to seek out music instead of just let it come to me via the radio. MTV was a huge part of that but working in a record store also helped.

Tears For Fears - Woman in Chains
This was and is still one of my all time favorites. I have no idea how I left this off of my all time list. It's so good that this is my second post with this song.

The Ramones - Do You Remember Rock and Roll Radio?
I never really liked The Ramones until I got a little older. I listened to this recently because it's covered on The Airborne Toxic Event's Live CD and wanted to hear the original. They weren't related and their last names were not Ramone by the way.

PHD - I Won't Let You Down
This was a very obscure early 80's band that had a very minor hit with "Little Suzie's on the Up". I like this one better. MTV played it in the early days when they had nothing else.

Howard Jones - What is Love?
This song blew me away and still does. That's all.

Real Life - Send Me An Angel
In the early days of MTV, they didn't have a lot of videos to play so they played what they had. This gave a lot of forward thinking bands exposure they never would have gotten or would get once MTV took off. This band came out around the same time that other electronic sounding bands. This was a minor hit and used love when I heard it on the radio. MTV bands seemd so much cooler to me that when I heard one on the radio, I thought it was amazing.

Falco - Rock Me Amadeus
This dude was so weird to me. He had a few hits earlier but this was always my favorite. He got hit by a bus and died a few years later.
