5 Songs on My iPod Volume 1

The way I listen to music has changed so much. My iPod is such a huge part of my listening experience. In the old days, I would take 5 or 6 cassette tapes with me and pop them in and out of the cassette desk. I would also make mix tapes. That led to CD's and then mix cd's. It was a tedious process. On the positive side, I listened to more whole albums than I do now. On the negative side, I used to get stuck on a few albums just out of pure laziness. Now with the shuffle option on the iPod, I hear so many new songs that I would not have even bothered to listen to. Here are 5 that popped up on my iPod in the last few days.

Chevelle - Face To the Floor
Chevelle has been around for a while and I have been relatively indifferent to them. The new CD "Hats Off To the Bull" seems a little different and more mature. It kind of has a Tool sound to it.

The Argument - Soaked
I found the Argument on the website "Alternative Addiction" in 2004. I never heard of them again but this song is incredible. It has a great melody and a Ben Folds vibe to it.

Frank Black - Headache
I always loved the Pixies and Frank Black's first solo CD did not disappoint. The album cover for "Teenager of the Year" was a little disturbing.

Freur - Doot Doot
I vaguely remember this song when it was out in the early 80's. I rediscovered it when it was used in the amazing movie "Let Me In".

Skee-lo - I Wish I Was a Baller
I wasn't a huge fan of early rap and hip hop but as I've gotten older it really grows on me. This is just a great song.
