5 Great New Songs Volume 21

With the release of new albums by two of my favorite artists, (Bowie and Carbon Leaf) I decided to do another New Music Post.
Enjoy

David Bowie - The Stars (Are Out Tonight)

This is the second single from his 24th album "The Next Day" which is going to be released in the US on 3/12/2013. So far, I haven't been disappointed. The video for this is classic David Bowie.

Carbon Leaf - She's Gone (..For Good This Time)

This is an album track from their 10th studio album "Ghost Dragon Attacks Castle". Hailing from Richmond VA, most would think they are from Ireland with their Celtic sound. I love the new album and if I was controlling things, I would release this as a single.

Strangers - Shine On You

I was looking for some good cover songs for a new "5 Great Cover Songs" post and found this London based band by way of a great cover of "Video Games". They have released several singles. This was released on 4/16/2012 but it's new to me. I'm looking forward to a whole album. They have a sound that reminds me of "Shiny Toy Guns", "She Wants Revenge" and of course some of the cool goth sounds of the 80's.

Jim James - A New Life

Jim James is the lead singer of the band "My Morning Jacket". This is his first solo album. It was released on 2/5/2013 and this is the first single. The first time I heard it I was not impressed but after a few listens I love it. It reminds me of a Roy Orbison song without being produced by Jeff Lynne.

Gentlemen Hall - Sail Into The Sun

I first heard of this band because this song was used in a Target Commercial. I used to be bothered by songs being used in commercials but with the stat of the music industry and how little new music is played on the Radio, it's the only way new bands get their songs heard. Currently it's only available as a single but I assume they are planning a whole new album.
