6 Great Songs From The 80's Volume 26

It's a rainy cold day with not much to do so we hit a couple of stores. On the way there the Divinyls came on Alt Nation which got me thinking about these songs. A few of these I haven't listened to in a while
Enjoy

Divinyls - Boys In Town

I remember seeing this video in the early days of MTV and just loving her voice. Their debut album "Desperate" was released in 1983 although it was hard to find in the US. They would score a huge worldwide hit in 1988 with "I Touch Myself".

The Motels - Take The L

My friend Mike used to sing this song and change the word "Lover" with a lot of different words. It still makes me laugh to this day. This is the third single from their fourth album "All Four One". It was released in 1982 and reached number 52 on the US Charts.

Missing Persons - Noticeable One

This is an album track from their 1982 debut album "Spring Session M". Dale and Terry Bozzio worked with Frank Zappa and released their first EP on his record label. MTV made their songs huge hits but they quickly faded on their next few albums and broke up.

Howard Jones - Hide and Seek

This was the third single from his 1983 debut album "Human's Lib". It reached number 12 in the UK.
I remember hearing this album and being blown away by how different it sounded. It still holds up well today.

Altered Images - I Could Be Happy

This is the first single from their second album "Pinky Blue". It reached number 7 in the UK. This is another band that got some heavy airplay on MTV in the early days. They also had a huge hit in the UK with "Happy Birthday'.

The Alarm - Strength

The Alarm was a band who I always felt was very underrated and was considered the poor man's U2. I loved U2 but always thought that this band had some great albums in the mid 80's. This is the first single from their second album of the same name. It was released in 1985 and reached number 40 in the UK. This album was great from the beginning to the end. I forgot how much I loved the whole album. Mike Peters has a glorious mullet in this video.
