6 Great Songs From The 80's Volume 16

I have been trying to come up with a good theme for my post that will see my blog reach 30,000 views but couldn't come up with anything special. I love the 80's and songs that were just off the radar or a little forgotten, so here are 6 more from the 80's.

Graham Parker - Temporary Beauty
Graham Parker is a singer from England. He had some success in the UK and received some airplay on early MTV. This has always been one of my favorites.

The Knack - Good Girls Don't
The Knack came out of nowhere with one of the biggest hits of all time with My Sharona. This was the follow up single. Although released in late 1979, it was still a chart hit in 1980.

Electric Light Orchestra - I'm Alive
This was from the soundtrack to the awful movie "Xanadu". It was really bad but featured a few good songs including several from my latest most listened to band, ELO.

James Taylor - Her Town (w J.D. Souther)
I completely forgot about this song. It reached  number 11 on the US Charts in 1981.

Marshall Crenshaw - Whenever You're On My Mind
Another great singer that had some success in the early 80's on MTV. This is from his 2nd album, "Field Day", released in 1983

Tommy Keane - Places That Are Gone
A singer songwriter from the DC area, Tommy Keane released his major label debut "Songs From The Film" in 1986. He scored a major label contract based on his very successful EP "Places That Are Gone" which also featured this song.
